I am a private tutor specialising in Maths and Physics at A-level, and Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at GCSE. During term time, I also teach at a local secondary school and sixth form college in West Sussex.

Like many other little boys growing up in the late 1960s, I wanted to be an astronaut. I had a passion for all things space and after studying Maths and Physics at Cambridge, I enrolled on a PhD in Radio Astronomy at the iconic Jodrell Bank radio telescope, part of Manchester University. I have since spent 25 years in industry, where I often acted as a mentor to junior engineers.

I became a private tutor in 2017, and now have more than 5000 hours` teaching experience. My learning philosophy is simple: to encourage my students to understand the underlying principles rather than just memorising facts. I try to develop a rapport with all of my students so that they look forward to the lessons as much as I do.

I hope you will consider me in your search for a GCSE/A-level tutor. I look forward to hearing from you soon, and to having the opportunity of helping your son or daughter fulfil their own potential.
