BIO

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher (QTS) with 11 years of experience.

I have a huge passion for teaching and find it most rewarding to see children progress and excel under my guidance.

I have taught students at all ages from 5 -12 in mainstream schools and have tutored KS1, KS2 and also preparing students for 11+ Entry Exams (Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning). I’m friendly, easy going and get excellent results through building good relationships with my students.

I hаve а trаck recоrd оf success аnd delivering results thrоugh privаte tutоring аnd аt clаssrооm level. I hаve significаnt, lоng-term experience аt KS1 & KS2 levels. Every child deserves an opportunity to reach their maximum potential.

In addition to focusing on a child`s academic progress, I always look for opportunities to boost their confidence and self-esteem – as these are crucial for a holistic development. Difficult concepts are broken down in smaller ones through scaffolding using different techniques differentiated according to each child`s individual need.

It is important to push each child past their comfort zone, and I do exactly that with the students I tutor by challenging them in different ways. I tutor children across the primary phase, all the way from teaching how to read and write in English, to solving complex problems in Maths, to preparing them for their upcoming SATs or 11+ exams. I tailor my lessons to cater for each child’s individual needs.

I have a gentle and friendly approach towards children and I always look for ways to help them make connections between the things they learn and for them to develop a love for learning. I believe that every child is truly special and unique. I have successfully tutored children with specific learning needs, as well as children that have English as an additional language.

All my students have made excelled progress in their studies, therefore most of my students come from personal recommendations of happy parents 🙂 Supporting students reach their potential is something I find thoroughly rewarding.

I’m able to teach all core and foundation subjects in KS1 and KS2.

I have a caring, supportive personality and am happy to be of help in any way that you need.

Tutor Feedback

My son Oliver started 11 plus English tuition with Miss Nur Azam in July this year - 2022. In the beginning, he had tried the past English papers and got the mark around 30 out of 60. In order to get into Kegs in Chelmsford, he needed at least 40 in English. So it’s very challenging. During the lesson, Nur went through questions on homework sheets one by one with Oliver, making sure he understood it thoroughly, rather than guessing it. Before the exam, she gave him exam tips which turned out very beneficial to him. I remembered Oliver read her exam tips and wore a thinking cap all the way to the exam centre. Not surprising, in the end, he achieved 44/60 in English and the standardized score of 373 in total. I would highly recommend Miss Nur Azam to anyone who is preparing their child for grammar School as she’s patient, knowledgeable and committed to her work. I wish her all the best.
