BIO

I have a joint honours first class degree in Law and Politics from Queen Mary, University of London as well as a distinction master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge. I am also completing my PhD in Development Studies/Political Sociology from the Universtiy of Cambridge.

I am a Law and Politics tutor for both A-level and university level students as well as a mentor for several A-level students as they navigate their future career options and make decisions regarding their university journeys and trajectories.

I have experience in teaching A-levels and GCSEs for the exam boards AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC in the following subjects: Law, Politics, English, Arabic, and Psychology. I also conduct tuition online via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. My dedication to my degree combined with my excellent academic experience means that I am qualified to tutor in these subjects. I have been tutoring for half a decade now, so my tutoring and mentoring roles show that I have the necessary knowledge and skills required to support tutees through their learning experiences.

I believe tutoring should be personalised to each individual’s needs so my teaching style is guided by each individual student. As each student learns differently, I am very flexible with the approach to teaching and I am willing to try out various methods of the tutees choosing to see what works best for them.

This approach has been very successful with my other students as they are able to guide their learning to focus on the things they need the most help with and the methods that will enable them to succeed. Generally, I have also seen the greatest success with students by focusing on exam-style questions where we plan and draft possible answers together.

This method is most helpful as it allows the student to critically think about the way they would like to tackle the question by drawing on the knowledge they already have and then practicing how to write an effective answer.

I like to encourage students to think critically about how and what they would like to answer and I do that by asking probing questions that allow them to think about the issue at hand.

Please get in touch and I will strive to ensure your needs are met.
