I am a fully qualified Biology A-level teacher who also teaches all sciences up to GCSE. I am available to teach online via teams or I am more than happy to commute to you if you are within / around Shropshire, Cheshire, and Staffordshire areas.

I studied at Alsager High School and Sixth Form before continuing to Staffordshire University for my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences. Upon completing my undergraduate degree, I then applied to the OAKS at Keele University to gain my post graduate certificate in education (PGCE) and my qualified teacher status (QTS). I have 6 years teaching experience in schools. Whilst teaching I have also thoroughly enjoyed tutoring in my spare time.

I have taught students on numerous exam boards including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. There is not another like me… I think they broke the mould with me! I am the type of teacher that has a fun classroom environment where mistakes and questions are encouraged just as often as researched statements. We all learn best when we have wiggle room for error. I provide my students with security and confidence inside, and outside, the classroom.

My lessons are best described as interactive, supportive, and transparent as I actively encourage my students to have a voice in the classroom, ask questions when they come up, and participate in all conversations regardless of their level of confidence.

I am happy to help any student studying for their GCSEs in any of the separate sciences. Having been on AQA specific courses I would be happy to help with their A-level Biology course. I am also available to teach KS1 to KS3 Science as I have a sound understanding for the National Curriculum for Science across all ages.

I am also happy to tutor undergraduate students in a degree involving Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Behaviour, Physiology, Human Biology, etc. Although I am relatively new to tutoring, I have had many successes in teaching with most of my students receiving grades 5 – 9 at GCSE.

Allow me to thank Sue Schulkins for the wonderful work she has done with our son’s English classes. We have seen our son’s interest grow as the sessions have progressed. Before Sue started out with him - I noticed she gathered as much information as she could and she listened to us and even adopted some of our methods. She improved on them and added her own unique creativity. She was very unlike some teachers who would insist on using their own method - she never did that. She was able to find out from our son his expectations and discovered he loves unusually funny narratives. She incorporated this into her curriculum and we have seen such a marked improvement in his English comprehension. He is having fun during the English sessions and his work has improved. He is attentive and focused. Sue Schulkins is certainly a different kind of teacher and we are very happy with her work. Well done Sue.
